Café afternoons – Chye Seng Huat Hardware
It’s been a while since the last café afternoon. So many things to do, so little brainpower and capacity.
Note to self: work on tolerance of uncertainty.
A break was in order. And what better place than the new (or relatively new) place-to-be-for-hipsters – Papa Palheta’s new venture.
Sat down and spotted the same tortoise that we last saw at Papa Palheta’s. Ah, familiarity, my long-lost friend.
Interesting menu. Or rather, interesting board.
I guess a write-up is a must for a place like this.
While waiting for the drink (the place was packed. And by packed, I mean, packed). Happy World Animal Day (October 4)!
The wait was long. Much longer than the the wait for a seat (which wasn’t easy either). But lucky for Chye Seng Huat, the interior’s enough to keep any impatient patron occupied. Industrial rustic gorgeous-ness.
Cake, coffee, check.
Yes, it was good.
This was interesting. In a good way. Mint+Lemon+Lime+some-sort-of-syrup. Time to make myself some lemonade.
Tucked away in a corner, with a temple and casket shop just steps away (at least I think that’s what it was). A great location for every hipster.
What’s not to love about the old?
This should come in handy for those who’d like to pop by.
Café afternoon, satisfied.
P.S. If you’re looking to take a breather/rest your mind, go on a weekday. On a weekend, it’s really just a place to see & maybe be seen (dresscode: hipster).
