The Santorini Hike
I don’t know what I’m looking for, but I know I just want to look some more.
Heard this while watching a movie on the cruise. Destination: Santorini.
The first person to greet us.
The island of blue.
Headed straight for the bus station, to catch the bus to Oia. Lovely sights along the way.
Minutes later, hello Oia!
I climbed onto a rooftop and walked out onto the ledge to photograph the island in its blue-domed glory. I feel like such a badass 😛
Cats and dogs of Greece. Can’t get enough.
Fancy spotting a love lock.
Then, meeting a lovely dog who followed me around the area for 10 minutes or more after I gave her some love (belly rub?).
Chances upon a local photographer‘s workshop. His works are lovely.
I would love a workshop like this.
Taking a break before beginning on the much-anticipated hike.
Truly, the island of blue.
I’m absolutely in love with the alleys on the Greek islands.
Beginning the hike back to Fira.
Over the peaks.
Finding signs left by fellow hikers who have trudged on the same path, then leaving one for those who hike in the opposite direction.
The hike wasn’t easy, but it was sure worth it.
Back in Fira.
A much appreciated gelato after a 4-hour hike along the cliffs.
Greece, you and your wonderful colors.
Watching the sun set back on the ship, as we set sail for Athens.
Goodbye Greek islands. Just like a local said to me, “You’ll miss this place.”
