Dempsey: House’s Vintage Tea Party

Trek up Dempsey Hill for the much-awaited high tea buffet.

After trekking through multiple puddles and trying to stay out of the rain ☂, this was a sight for sore eyes.

Known for its lovely vintage theme, House’s high tea buffet is only available on Thursdays and Fridays, from 3-5.30pm.

With such gorgeous vintage decor, what’s there not to love?

It shouldn’t be difficult getting a seat, but since you can conveniently reserve a table online, why not? You wouldn’t want to travel all the way uphill just to find out that there are no seats 😛

The high tea buffet features a decent spread, from sweet (a variety of cupcakes, cakes, cookies, dessert) to savoury (thin-crust pizzas, rice rolls, cheeses, flavored toppings for breads).

After much ogling at the wonderful spread amidst the lovely vintage decor, I finally settled down to my first plate. Yum ♨

Spot the restroom sign? 🙂

After stuffing our faces with cakes & tasties, we strolled next door to Beauty Emporium (also by the folks at Spa Esprit).

The place houses a retail shop for cosmetics, a small cafe, Browhaus, Strip, and manicure/pedicure services. A small section of the shop even featured goods from BooksActually.

On the way downhill, I spotted a bird enclosure that I’ve never seen despite several trips up Dempsey. It was rather depressing to see these majestic birds all confined to one small space, with their wings clipped so they can’t fly. Ah.

Home. To wind down and admire the lovely products I bought while enjoying high tea at House today. Some girls were there to set up shop at one of the tables, selling pouches, tin boxes, thermos flasks and water bottles, all in lovely prints ♥

Tinydipity. The lady behind the brand was lovely and answered my questions with utmost patience. Love the concept, adore the designs.

3 days of exploration+cafes+vintage.

I’m ready to tackle whatever comes with a smile 🙂
