“A friend in need is a friend indeed.”
If a person is only there when you express a need, sometimes showing concern, other times not, is said person still considered a “friend indeed”?
If you find yourself always being there, making an effort, but not having the same in return, does it make you a true friend who gives without expecting return, or a stupid person who too often puts others at a top priority?
When I began writing this, I thought, Oh goodness, this is so high school and whiny.
Whiny as it may be, it’s good exercise. Sort out the pile of people in your life, reevaluate. And as selfish as it sounds, when you realize that you’re there more often than the other person is/you’re making more of an effort than the other, take the hint.
Clear the clutter and simplify things.
